Popped into a small town grocery store yesterday. Was probably more excited than I should have been to find organic salad tubs on clearance with three (3!) more days left to the Sell By Date.

Made my way to the check out to find more than one lane open with no more than one person in front of me. No self checkout lanes.

“Paper or Plastic?”
“Paper please.”
“With handles or without?”

*Pause*

“With, please.”

Young man packs up my salad, lovingly places my Handled bag in the cart and sets it in the right direction for me.

I wheel to the exit only to pass a cart of cute little poinsettia plants with a FREE sign on it.

Me: looking around for Toto. Or Santa.

I’m saving this bag forever.
